Learn how to use social media for reporting.  We’ll learn the basics of how social media platforms are used for reporting, and we’ll learn how these different tools can be used in the implementation of reporting strategies and audience engagement. Students should have a basic understanding of platforms like Facebook and Twitter – no additional experience required.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Colin Jones is the director of social media for The Daily Beast. Previously, he worked as a social media producer for Vice, social media editor for MSNBC and the New York Daily News, and his work has been featured in RollingStone.com, Death+Taxes, Prefix, the New York Times’ Local East Village and Park Slope Patch.

This event is free for currently-enrolled NYU journalism students as well as full-time faculty and staff. Alumni may attend for a $45 fee.
