Eleanor Halpern Kurz, ‘46 UG, is a retired lawyer but still very active in industrial business. She says her journalism degree helped her with organization and community newsletters.
Mary Ann Castronovo Fusco,’77 UG, writes the “In Season” columns for the Savor Food section of the Newark Star-Ledger. She also contributes to the NJ section of The New York Times and edits The Journal of Organizational Excellence for John Wiley & Sons. Before becoming a full-time freelance writer Castronovo worked in magazine publishing as a senior editor of Attenzione and BusinessWeek Careers.
Myra Alperson, ‘84 G, is currently writing a guidebook on the markets and eateries of New York City’s ethnic neighborhoods for St. Martin’s Press, (2003). She edits a newsletter, NoshNews, which she created in 1999, and leads NoshWalks - walking tours - to the neighborhoods covered in her newsletters. She has written 5 other books including Dim Sum, Bagels & Grits: A Sourcebook for Multicultural Families (New York: Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2001) She currently edits Global Giving Matters, an on-line newsletter for The Synergos Institute; she left Synergos in November 2001 to work on her current book.
Leah Ingram, ‘87 UG, has been a freelance writer for 10 years. She has authored five books and appears frequently as a wedding and gift-giving expert on television. Her next book, Balanced Bride will be out in September.
Ellen McGrath Rozsa, ‘87 G, is a former reporter for Greenwich Time, a daily serving Greenwich, Connecticut. In recent years she has volunteered as a public relations writer for various non-profits in my community as well as consulting and writing for small businesses.
Michael Wong, ‘88 UG, is a member of the product marketing team for Apple. He trains broadcast news organizations to use desktop video editing technologies like Final Cut Pro. Wong has also produced a feature film, which is entering the festival circuit this spring.
Ed Silverman, ‘88 G, is a business writer at the Newark Star-Ledger. Previously he worked as the business writer for Newsday. He is also an adjunct professor at NYU and Rutgers University.
Terry Bello Burton, ‘89 G, is the CEO of Groovenation, Inc., a multimedia company with a nationally syndicated radio program called Soul Lounge. Burton is also the co-host of the program.
Diane Rostyak, ‘90 UG, is a copy editor at ABCNews.com.
Catherine Kim, ‘91 UG, is a producer with the CBS News program, Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood.
Dimitra Kessenides, ‘92 G, works as a senior editor at a JD Jungle, legal magazine in New York City
Eileen Gunn, ‘93 UG, is a freelance writer. She covers a variety of business topics including finance, management and careers for publications that range from The Wall Street Journal to Upside to Self. Gunn has also been on staff at the Dow Jones News Service and Fortune magazine.
Rich Calder, ‘94 G, has worked the past two years as the Yonkers City Hall reporter for The Journal News in New York. In 2000, Calder won a New Jersey Press Association award for Coverage of Government while at The Herald News in North Jersey.
Monica Rivituso, ‘95 G, is a staff editor at SmartMoney.com.
Dorio Lavagnino, ‘96 G, is a research editor at Cosmogirl Magazine. She also oversees the internship program.
Emily Spilko, ‘99 G, is a Senior Copywriter for Bigfoot Interactive advertising agency.
Lisa Orkin, ‘99 G, works for The Associated Press in Athens, Greece.
Yu-Tzu Chiu, ‘99 G, is a staff reporter at Taipei Times, an English-language newspaper in Taiwan. Since 2000, she has been contracted as a contributing writer for the IEEE Spectrum magazine. She writes science, energy and environmental stories. Last year, she was honored with Taiwan’s National Press Council’s Outstanding Journalists Award, marking the first time in the 11-year history of the award that a reporter from an English-language newspaper won.
Wing Ho, ‘00 UG, and Orion Ray-Jones, 01 UG, are assistant editors at Mixer Magazine.
Sharon Waters, ‘00 G, is a Metro reporter at the Home News Tribune, a 70,000-circulation Gannett daily covering central New Jersey.
Amanda Cantrell, ‘00 G, is a staff writer at Hedgefund.net, a financial daily news website. She has also freelanced for The New York Times (City section), Cosmopolitan, City Limits Magazine, Pop Culture Press and for Spin Magazine. Upon graduation Cantrell worked as a news assistant at the Industry Standard.
Megan Costello, ‘00 G, is an editor for an educational publishing company. Upon graduation she freelanced for Publisher’s Weekly, City Limits, Women’s Enews and In These Times. Costello also spent time copyediting scientific manuscripts, writing entries for an African history encyclopedia and producing segments for Mario Murillo’s WBAI radio program.
Lindsay Goldwert, ‘00G, is the associate research editor at Redbook magazine. She previously was a fact checker at Marie Claire.
Suzanne Rozdeba, ‘01 UG works at the New York Daily News as a reporter for Rush & Molloy column, where she confides, “I’m meeting lots of famous people and hearing their crazy stories and reporting on the gossip beat.”

Katie Millbauer, ‘01 UG, is an editor for the Tri Cities Area Journal of Business, a business journal outside of Seattle. Before being promoted to editor Millbauer was a reporter for the same publication. Before her job at the Tri Cities Area Journal she freelanced for a small newspaper in her hometown outside of Seattle.
Katia Raina, ‘01 G, is a news reporter and business editor for the Montclair Times, a weekly in Northern New Jersey.
Chris Peterson, ‘01G, is a production assistant at KPI, a documentary production house here in the city for A&E, Bravo, The Discovery Channel, and The History Channel.
