
Grad Wins Student Academy Award

Recent News & Documentary graduate student Megan Thompson has won a student academy award!
LADIES OF THE LAND was voted by the Academy as one of the National winning films in the 34th Annual Student Academy Award competition.
She will be flown to LA for the Student Academy Award week from Wednesday, June 6th through Saturday, June 9th. All the winning filmmakers will be invited at Academy expense to participate in the various film-related and social activities have planned for the week. The week will culminate with the annual Student Academy Awards Ceremony, in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Saturday evening.

Ladies of the Land
As small family farms continue to disappear from the American landscape, a new group of farmers grows dramatically: women. The film follows new women farmers in Pennsylvania and Minnesota, exploring the the ways in which they are challenging the traditional agricultural model, the difficulties they face, and the reasons why they love the land.
