Professor Davis founded and directed the Africa Project, Inc, an annual training program in journalism and photojournalism for inner city students from the New York City Area. So far, he has completed thirteen successful program trips to 30 different African countries. (www.africaproject.com) Working as a staff reporter for the The New York Daily News for 28 years, he has received over 21 photo awards including nine from the NY Press Photographers Association. He has three Pulitzer prize nominations. Since 2000, Professor Davis has taught graduate and undergraduate "Photojournalism."
