Meryl Gordon is a magazine writer who specializes in profiles, politics and lifestyle features. Her stories have appeared regularly since 1991 in New York Magazine, where she is a contributing editor. She has written more than 150 magazine stories for major publications including More, Elle, Gourmet, Reader’s Digest and The New York Times.

Gordon wrote a weekly economics column out of Washington, D.C. for five years for Gannett News Service, and covered economics for USA Today. She began her career writing about police and courts at the Cincinnati Post and then the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. She has also worked as a television reporter for the show “Business Times” and wrote a screenplay for 20th Century Fox.
