Pamela Noel, head of Career Services, comes to NYU from a long career in newspapers with forays into the magazine and online journalism world.

For more than a decade, she served in various assigning and copyediting posts at The New York Times (Travel, Education Life, the Metropolitan section), and before that, she worked in similar capacities for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Miami Herald, where she was also a reporter. In addition, she has been an editor and writer at Ebony magazine and written freelance film reviews for Oxygen Media.

She is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and of programs offered by the Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education: copy editing, housed at the University of Arizona-Tucson, and newspaper management, offered at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School.
