Special Library and Online Research and Reporting Workshops for Graduate Students

Dear Students,
Welcome back.
Outside the door to my office on the 5th floor, Room 502, you will find six sign-up sheets for a series of identical 90-minute workshops designed especially for you by the research librarians at Bobst. These sessions have the intent of deepening your on-line and library research and reporting skills. We can take 22-25 students in each group. This means room for the entire 2006-07 graduate class.
The librarians say sessions like this work best if you have actual research/reporting questions to pose. They'd like these ahead of time. So please, take a minute to email me by Monday a question or two at brooke.kroeger@nyu.edu and I'll forward these to the librarians.
WHEN: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, February 7, 8 and 9 , either from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. or from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
WHERE: In the computer labs on the LOWER LEVEL OF BOBST LIBRARY.
Two weeks later, on February 22 and 23, there will be four more workshops -- area-specific workshops. This set is designed to improve your ability to do deep research and reporting in the subject areas of Culture, Science, Business and Data & Statistics. Schedule:
- Wed., Feb. 22nd, 2-3:30, Culture with Scott Collard in PC1
- Wed., Feb. 22nd, 3:30-5pm, Data and Statistics with Jason Phillips in PC1
- Thurs., Feb. 23rd, 2-3:30pm, Science with Kara Whately in PC2
- Thurs., Feb. 23rd, 3:30-5pm, Business with Mary Jean Pavelsec in PC2
Sign up sheets for this group of area-specific workshops will also be up tomorrow on or near my door.
