April 28 - Instructor, Princeton Student Environmental Communication Ne for Princeton University.
We are seeking a Program Instructor for the Princeton Student Environmental Communication Network's (SECN) NEW Summer Training Institute.
This position is paid hourly; part-time during program prep (May thru mid-June), full-time during program (June 15 - July 12). Salary is $20-25 per hour depending on experience (estimated total between $4400 – 5500 for 10-week period). Meals provided, and housing arrangements on campus possible during June 15 – July 12 period.
All program leadership will be responsible for developing program curriculum, enlisting guest instructors, and carrying out the goals of the program. Because this summer training institute is a NEW program for SECN with no precedent at Princeton the candidate should have strong creative drive, willingness to adjust as needed, and self-motivation. The goal of the program is to train selected Princeton undergraduate students in the art and skill of communicating sustainability in short format broadcast and video media, with the secondary goal of exploring these media creatively for a national audience. Topics will be driven largely by student interest and will likely include climate change and energy issues, as well as more local sustainability issues such as water conservation, green construction, urban renewal, organic gardening, etc. The instructional team will be responsible for guiding the students through all aspects of production, from background research and fact checking, to story-telling style development, interview skills if applicable, on-camera and on-mic skills, production, editing and post-production.
Initial program planning begins in early May so please apply immediately.
