Nicole Pesce is a freelance writer and a master’s candidate at New York University’s School of Journalism. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English at the State University of New York at Stony Brook on Long Island, where she also minored in journalism and wrote for The Stony Brook Press when she wasn’t rucking and mauling on the rugby pitch.
