Author: Alyssa Giachino

Alyssa Giachino spent over a year living in Mexico City where she worked as a reporter for The Herald Mexico. Since moving to the east coast to study at New York University, she has suffered withdrawls from the lack of fresh corn tortillas, hot off the conveyer belt with just a sprinkle of salt, from her Mexico City tortilleria. She lived for many years in Oakland, CA, where she was a labor organizer with the Justice for Janitors campaign and worked with a largely Mexican immigrant population.
