Amy Van Vechten was born in Hawaii and grew up in San Diego. Once she began attending UCLA, Los Angeles she discovered writing and practiced stretching her small budget to include as much traveling as possible. She lived in the south of France for two years, teaching at the University level and reporting for a French news station. Currently, she is pursuing a joint MA in Journalism and Contemporary French Studies at NYU. She hopes to become a foreign correspondent.
