master's program at New York University. Born and raised in Oshkosh, Wis., she left the dairyland with dreams of covering crime and city politics in the Big Apple. She received her bachelor of arts in news-editorial journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and worked as a copy editor for Gannett papers before coming to New York.
