Mariah Craven is a master's candidate in the News & Documentary program at New York University. According to her mother, Mariah began speaking at six-months-old. She has been holding people captive with her stories since then. One of Mariah's middle school teachers found her to be a superb writer and took her to see Danny Glover read poetry. A high school mentor taught Mariah how to put a news story together "like a sandwich." Mariah got her B.A. in English at Boston University where the mascot -- Rhett, the Boston terrier -- is known for his tenacity. It was the perfect storm, and Mariah went on to work around the country as a reporter, producer, and videographer. She loves journalism -- especially broadcast journalism.
