Playing Politics Online--Game Version

Once again, someone's trying to play politics online.
The reality TV master Mark Burnett, the initiator behind Survivor and The Apprentice, has proposed a MySpace-based political contest called Independent. In his project, users will submit videos to become "candidates" and then will "run" against one another in the leadup to the 2008 presidential election.

The largest number of eyeballs able to be reached at any one time is still network television, but clearly, the world's largest social networking community is found on MySpace, Burnett is smart enough to grasp the facts.

Getting the young, energetic American demographics who are active on MySpace excited about the idea of a virtual political game won't be difficult. The latter requires as much passion, energy, self-righteous and stubbornness as the former has to offer.
