Mozilo Update: S.E.C. Launches Informal Investigation

Last week North Carolina State treasurer Henry H. Moore wondered if where there's smoke, there is fire.

Moore wrote to the SEC chairman pleasing they open an investigation into Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo's stock sale practices. This week, The New York Times reports that the SEC has indeed launched an informal investigation looking at Mozilo's actions.
