Deborah Amos is a reporter covering the Middle East for NPR. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and authored the books Eclipse of the Sunnis: Power, Exile and Upheaval in the Middle East and Lines in the Sand: Desert Storm and the Remaking of the Arab World.  Amos will be in conversation with Marc Lynch, Associate Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at George Washington University, where he is the Director of the Institute for Middle East Studies.  He is the author of Voices of the New Arab Public: Al-Jazeera, Iraq, and Middle East Politics Today, and under his pseudonym Abu Aardvark edits Foreign Policy Magazine’s Middle East Blog.
