Blog Away ... Just Don't Lie

Anonymous blogs only stay anonymous for so long. For the past year, Socialite Rank has been detailing the attire and actions of socialites in order to determine their popularity standings. Of course, everyone wanted to know just who was behind the site. Radar even created their own little contest to figure it out. But before anyone could, the site shut down and the writer got a book deal. And two magazine features.

Instant fame. Everyone loves gossip, so SR’s motive was expose all New York socialites and gain popularity. Mission accomplished. The book, "Year of Rank," is supposed to be out in a year, and I’m sure it’ll be just as popular.

View From the Fourth Row is next. It’s a catty fashion blog, apparently written by a fashion editor at a top magazine, and with New York Magazine's article about the site, soon VFTFR’s identity will be known. Sure, it may be a quick way to get a book deal, but what if that all falls through? There goes your job and your ideal future job. It's a risk I’m not taking.

I'm really curious who's behind View From the Fourth Row. You would think that no one in the magazine industry would be dumb enough to have a secret anonymous blog after the Jolie in NYC fiasco, so I'm thinking that either this person has permission and it's somehow a PR thing, or the person is a total fake.
