We Want Media

Apparently, writing ability no longer is what gets you a byline in a magazine or newspaper.

Cari commented on Angelina Jolie and Mary-Kate Olsen's recent forays into the journalism world, and then I came across this gem.

For all those freelancers trolling around on craigslist for a writing gig, here you go!

All you need is beauty and party promoter contacts. Oh, and as a side note, maybe the ability to write well would be a good asset to have as well.

This unnamed magazine is going to even give you $50 for a night of partying and socializing! Why don’t they just hire out a socialite? You know they’ll have no problem getting into places. And the magazine’s readership would soar, considering the general public’s obsession with beautiful famous people.

I certainly hope that I’m not going to be reading magazines and newspapers filled with mediocre journalism because the public wants their fill of Hollywood. That, and not the internet obsession, would be the death of print media.
