A Highsnobity Q&A

David Fischer, editor of Highsnobity.com, answers some questions about his blog.

JP: Who are you and what do you do?

DF: David Fischer, 24, editor in chief of HighSnobiety.com and Distributor.

JP: How did HighSnobity start?

DF: Started HighSnobiety during my last year of university -- had some time left over and wanted to archive everything cool that I came across!

JP: Is blogging a fulltime job? / What else do you do (hobbies)?

DF: Started as a hobby and became a fulltime job. The site evolved and so did the content. It is not anymore a 100% only a blog. We have a shop guide, features, etc. The blog is still the heart of the site though. I am also a distributor for American Streetwear brands in Europe. I play tennis, basketball, snowboard!

JP: What does "hype" mean to you? Does it have a positive/negative impact on brands?

DF: Hype is at first not negative to me. If something gets hype for a reason, because it’s an exceptional product, then it deserves it. Unfortunately nowadays many products that do not deliver on quality and design are also hyped, because it’s so easy on the net.

JP: How's the fashion blogging scene changed recently (has it)?

DF: Of course many people came into it and also started their blog. I think many realize after a while that it’s not as easy as it looks and if you want to do it well, it is very time consuming. To be honest, I could not do it at this level, if I had another full time job!

JP: What do you read?

DF: Other blogs, websites, Monocle magazine and some others!

JP: Any other comments?

DF: No!
