Ann Shoket of Seventeen: Not Blogging About Her Dinner!

Seventeen Editor in Chief Ann Shoket, sadly, will never live up to the 'Toos' blogging capabilities.

The 'Toos (or for those of you not familiar with the nick name, Atoosa Rubenstein, former editor in chief of Seventeen) has been famous for her tendency to blog about weight problems, eating her feelings through seven bowls of lucky charms when she wasn't actually hungry (gasp!), among other things. Often the subject of many a joke on Gawker and other blogs, we were all sad to see the 'Toos leave Seventeen last year to devote more time to her fans and her MySpace page.

With Shoket as her new replacement, she is trying to fill in those pretty big blogging shoes. In a recent interview with Huffington Post's Melissa Lafsky, Shoket reveals the hardest thing about blogging is to come up with something everyday to say that is relevant to Seventeen's readers. "I don't want to talk about what I had for dinner," she explains. Instead she'd like to post about life lessons she's still learning, etc.

But not eating things that make you fat for dinner IS a life lesson! Take a lesson from the 'Toos, revealing your eating issues (arguably disorder?) to thousands of young impressionable teens is helpful and won't help foster new body image problems among your readers. I promise!
