KCAA-AM Continues Running Don Imus

KCAA-AM might have the greatest "dumb luck'"in radio right now. After CBS fired Don Imus on April 12, this small talk radio station, out of San Bernardino, Calif., continued running reruns of “Imus in the Mornings” in its 6 a.m.-9 a.m. time slot.

Imus Getting Fired is Hypocritical

I think we might be the only media blog on the Internet that has yet to comment on Don Imus getting fired. Given the fact that yours truly will be working in talk radio in T-30 days, I figured I would take a stab at it because quite frankly, I am scared.

Nielsen: Thanks for Including Us In Your Ratings ... Finally!

Sometimes I feel like people look at college students as if we were science experiments: un-measurable and mysterious creatures of youth.

U.S. Army Posts on YouTube

It’s hard enough to mix media with politics. But when it comes to media and the military, there is another level of sensibility that is necessary to protect our troops.

ABC Radio Sale is a Good Thing

When $2.7 billion is involved, I guess it’s kind of a big deal. Citadel Broadcasting is set to buy 24 ABC Radio stations, which are owned by Disney.

TV Land To Produce Its Own Retro Shows

Do you remember the days when TV Land actually showed decent TV shows? Well, I do. And when I say good, I mean shows that stem from generations far before my own and yet are still relevant and entertaining. They are classics.

Dennis Miller: Get Off the Radio!

The world would be a better place if Dennis Miller would avoid joining the ranks of talk radio. Please, I beg you Dennis: Do not go on the air and claim to be a talk radio host.

200 Million Page Views Is Not Enough

One question we constantly ask ourselves in our class is how we can make our blog an A-list blog. It seems that we know the ingredients: interesting subject matter, unique voices and proper spelling and grammar, to name a few.

AJC: Do You Know What a Blog Is?

I like the Atlanta Journal Constitution. It is a respectable newspaper, and while it does not have the national cred of the New York Times or Los Angeles Times, it is publication worth noting.

Bloggers Host Fox News Show

Bloggers gone television? The world has gone mad! Now when blogs are just beginning to peak as “mainstream,” bloggers themselves are already putting a face (and a voice) with a name.

Disney Does Dumbo ... Again?

If I were a Disney character, I would be Cinderella. She was a blonde princess with glass slippers and a blue gown. What I always forget is that she is a cartoon.

How to Talk About Books You Haven't Read

I always thought that there was one way to read a book. Start to finish. Cover to cover. It was painful. And I never remember anything. There has to be another way to be knowledgeable without slaving over every last little word.

Somebody's Gotta Say It

I want to work in talk radio. Most will tell you that radio is a dying form of media—they have been saying that since the creation of television. But radio is still alive and kicking, thanks in part to talk radio personalities that keep the medium fresh and thought-provoking.

"24" Is Getting Too Violent

I have been a fan of Fox’s “24” for a solid 3 seasons. It’s great drama filled with politics, cultural clashes, twisted character relationships and (above all) a sexy stud of a lead: Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland). But...
