Two NYU undergraduate students place in the 2019-2020 Hearst Awards

NYU journalism major Jing Feng claimed fourth place in the Hearst Awards annual television features competition, which is open to undergraduate students nationwide. Jing’s stories, titled “Noodletown – First Generation Immigrant Examines His Roots in Chinatown” and “Mass Protests Against NYPD and MTA Burst Out in Brooklyn,” were published by Cooper Squared.

Kaitlyn Wang
NYU senior Kaitlyn Wang finished in 11th place in the Narrative Video Storytelling competition of the 2019-2020 Hearst Awards. Her story “From the Ashes: Recovery in Redding,” which was published in May 2019, is a longform multimedia project about the individual and community recovery after a wildfire in California.
