Arthur Sulzberger, chairman of The New York Times, discusses the future of the newspaper business with Professor Meryl Gordon, director of the magazine program. Mr. Sulzberger worked as a reporter and editor at the newspaper before he became publisher of The New York Times in 1992.

Since then, the Times has earned 50 Pulitzer Prizes for outstanding journalism. Winning series include “How Race is Lived in America,” and the newspaper’s coverage of the September 11 terrorist attack in a “A Nation Challenged” and “Portraits of Grief.”

Mr. Sulzberger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Tufts University in 1974. He is also a 1985 graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development.
