Connor Sheets is an investigative and enterprise reporter for the Los Angeles Times. He has worked as a reporter for more than 15 years for news outlets in California, Alabama, New York and Maryland. His investigative journalism has been honored by numerous national journalism contests and in 2024 he was part of the Times team that was a Pulitzer finalist for its coverage of a mass shooting in L.A. County. Sheets mentors and trains student and early-career journalists via the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting and Investigative Reporters and Editors. He has completed fellowships at institutions including the University of Missouri, the City University of New York, Loyola Law School and Georgia State University. A father of two, Sheets grew up in Maryland, where he delivered newspapers as a teenager and landed his first reporting job after graduating from the University of Maryland.
