Kyoung-hak Kim

Kyoung-hak Kim is a journalist and Deputy Manager of the Business News Desk at The Kyunghyang Shinmun, one of South Korea’s leading daily newspapers. Over nearly 15 years of reporting across business, finance, legal affairs, and culture, he has developed a deep interest in how technology is reshaping journalism and public life. As a 2026–2027 Journalism Fellow of the Sungkok Journalism Foundation, he is a Visiting Scholar at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at NYU. His research focuses on live journalism and audience engagement in the age of AI. He is particularly interested in how human presence, performance, and storytelling can create meaningful connections between journalists and audiences, complement the growing role of AI in the media ecosystem, and help reimagine journalism as a more participatory civic practice.
