Conference Attendance Grants
NYU Journalism is awarding multiple grants, up to $1000 each, to current NYU graduate and undergraduate students seeking to participate in conferences or educational programs outside NYU. The grants are open to all students regardless of identity or background. Funds may be used for travel. International travel is subject to NYU’s Covid-19 travel policies.
Eligibility
Open to both NYU graduate and undergraduate journalism students, regardless of identity or background. To be eligible to apply:
- Graduate students must be enrolled in an NYU Journalism masters program.
- Undergraduate students should be declared journalism majors or minors.
NABJ, NAHJ, IJA, AAJA Conferences
- Deadline: January 26, 2026.
- Submittable applications for these grants will open on January 12, 2026. Apply here.
Academic Conferences
- Deadline: March 6, 2026. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with awards granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- These grants are separate from the NABJ, NAHJ, IJA and AAJA grants. Please ensure you are applying for the correct grant.
