In this intensive reporting and writing course students will select a beat—cultural, political, arts, business, social—and give it a New York City spin.    We’ll learn the many strategies needed to write stories that pull back the curtain on city life from the gritty to the glamorous.   Assignments will range from the Q&A to long-form narrative.  And we’ll  work to get your pieces published as well as posted on your personal website so by semester’s end you’ll have a digital calling card to showcase your work.
