In this course, you’ll develop your reporting, thinking, and writing skills, write reviews and profiles, enhance your understanding of the way magazines and websites operate, and prepare for a career in an industry that has changed even since you started reading this paragraph. We will confront the fading of classic omniscient techniques of reviewing by exploring the arts as news; use of personal voice; and incorporating elements of political viewpoint in the coverage of pop culture.

The first half of this course involves heavy reading, but the second half does not.
