Join NYU Journalism for a Masterclass with the Sundance award winning director and editor of ‘CARTEL LAND’ a riveting, on theground look at the journeys of two modernday vigilante groups and their shared enemy the murderous Mexican drug cartels. Heineman won the Best Director Award and Special Jury Award for Cinematography for the film in the U.S. Documentary Competition at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, where the documentary premiered. In this Master’s Class Heineman and his editor, Hamachek will discuss documentary structure and editing using their tension-filled documentary as an example.
