Speakers

Sabrina Imbler’s new and widely acclaimed essay collection, How Far the Light Reaches, blends autobiography and science writing. Imbler is also a staff writer at Defector. Previously they worked as a reporting fellow on the science and health desk of The New York Times.

Helen Santoro reports on the brain, health disparities, and the LGBTQ+ community. Born without a left temporal lobe, she wrote about it in the New York Times. She has also written for High Country News, Scientific American, Slate, Smithsonian, WIRED and many other publications.

Moderator Robin Lloyd a freelance writer and editor, as well as a contributing editor at Scientific American. A visiting scholar at the Carter Institute of Journalism, she is also the president of the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing.
