NewsDoc Student William Martin Awarded Overseas Press Club Foundation Scholar Award
In his application essay, William wrote about how wildfires in the rain forest are endangering the Munduruku people, an indigenous tribe in Northern Brazil. This summer he plans to return to Brazil to film potential solutions to their plight.
The OPC Foundation provides scholarships for students who aspire to become foreign correspondents. William is one of 16 students to receive the award.
