Prof. Rachel Swarns honored by Religion News Association

Rachel Swarns was awarded first place in the news analysis category by the Religion News Association for her reporting on the orders of Catholic nuns who bought and sold enslaved people, and on an Episcopal seminary that profited from slave labor. “Both stories, unflinching in their look back at the past, provide context to help us understand the troubling issues of today,’’ the judges said.
