Nanfu Wang, NewsDoc 2014, receives a MacArthur ‘Genius’ Grant
Nanfu Wang, NewsDoc 2014, receives a MacArthur ‘Genius’ Grant. The MacArthur fellowships, awarded annually by the MacArthur Foundation for “extraordinary originality and dedication,” come with a no-strings-attached award of $625,000, distributed over five years. The MacArthur Foundation describes her work as “creating intimate character studies that examine the impact of authoritarian governance, corruption, and lack of accountability on the lives of individuals.”
NYU Journalism is so proud of Nanfu’s accomplishments. Nanfu said, ‘NewsDoc was life-changing.’ We’re so glad she continues to be part of our team, teaching this semester.
