Berenice Garcia, BA 2013

Berenice Garcia joined the Texas Tribune as a Report for America corps member. She is part of the Tribune’s regional reporting team and is their first reporter dedicated to covering the Rio Grande Valley. She previously covered the region locally for seven years as a reporter for The Monitor, reporting on a wide range of topics, including local government, criminal justice and health care. She graduated from New York University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and politics.
