While working as a journalist at Al Jazeera English, Alma joined NYU’s AJO Master’s program to enhance her skills. As a senior producer, she oversees editorial planning, contributes to live coverage, and is developing an online course on media planning. Originally from Bosnia with a background in linguistics, Alma covered major events such as the 2022 World Cup, the war in Ukraine, the Gaza conflict, and the 2024 U.S. election. Upon graduating from NYU, Alma was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Juris Doctor degree at Hamad bin Khalifa University in Qatar.
“Looking back at my time at AJO, I’m deeply grateful for how everything has come together. From covering stories across the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East to advancing my journalism career, each step has shaped my journey. The professors, true pioneers, deepened my understanding of journalism in ways I hadn’t imagined. This program didn’t just teach me the necessary skills—it opened doors and set me on a path I’m truly excited to continue.”
