“I joined the AJO program after 3 consecutive years in my broadcast TV career with Univision Houston. I was looking for more training to make me a more well-rounded journalist — and that it did!
I’m so fortunate to have learned from great professors who each taught me different ways to look at a story and the best way to report it. I also have thoroughly enjoyed reporting in my city of Houston and finding my passion in immigration storytelling. Since graduating, I’ve grown tremendously as a journalist. I’ve gained experience producing all types of newscasts and field producing for my current station KHOU, a CBS affiliate in Houston, Texas. I’m now a Senior Producer which takes on more managerial responsibilities, including special projects such as roundtables, panels, and coverage on heritage months.”
