American Journalism Online 2021
Before I came into the AJO program, I was working as a full-time freelancer, cultivating a niche in the travel and culture space. I didn’t study journalism or communications prior to entering the program and applied with the intent of getting a full-time staff role at a major publication on my beat. The AJO program helped me take the skills I developed in the field to the next level. I was able to explore new worlds like video journalism, integrating photography to tell a story, and podcast production. Two months after graduation I can proudly say that I got the full-time job I wanted. I’m very grateful for everything I learned from the program.
