David Cummings

David Cummings is the Senior Director of Editorial and Multiplatform Content for CBS Sports. He started at CBS Sports in February 2022 to create the Race & Culture Unit. He is responsible for shaping the editorial direction for all CBS Sports content across linear, cable, digital, and social platforms, with the added responsibility of ensuring CBS Sports storytelling, news gathering, and reporting are inclusive and content, from planning through production

Before joining CBS, Cummings ran his own consulting agency, D.E.K. Strategies. His Career includes a background as a sportswriter and editor, having worked for ESPN, The Source Magazine, The New York Times, The New York Daily News, The Clarion-Ledger (Jackson, MS), and The Dispatch (Lexington, NC). He has also served as an adjunct professor at Montclair State University, William Paterson University, and St.Francis College.

Cummings holds a BA in Communications from Morehouse College. He is married to Kimberly and they have three children, David Jr., Elizabeth, and Katherine.
