Hayes Brown
Adjunct Faculty
Hayes Brown is a columnist and editor with MSNBC Daily, writing essays on politics, global affairs, and pop culture. Prior to joining MSNBC, he spent six years with BuzzFeed News, spending the vast majority of the time with the World desk as an editor and reporter. He also developed several BuzzFeed podcasts, including “Impeachment Today,” which he hosted and co-produced, and “News O’Clock,” which he co-hosted.
Hayes is to date unrecognized by his field’s award granting institutions, which he is sure is an oversight on their part. He has a B.A. in international relations from Michigan State University’s James Madison College and briefly considered law school during a moment of weakness. When not unhealthily scrolling Twitter, he can often be found watching “Top Chef” reruns and plotting which of the contestant’s restaurants he would like to visit.
