Before AJO, I was a laid-off podcast producer wanting to pivot into news writing.

Not only did the program give me the tools and experience to do so, it gave me the confidence to overcome the imposter syndrome I’d spent years battling. I learned so much in every class and felt completely supported by my professors.

Now, I am doing what I set out to do: reporting! I work for a small publication out of the Kansas City area called the Johnson County Post
