Kim Bode is an award-winning journalist, digital strategist and community engagement expert. Currently, she is the manager of community and product operations at News Deeply, leading the exploration, implementation and evaluation of workflows and tools of our community engagement practices. Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, she came to New York as Wall Street correspondent for the Financial Times Deutschland, Capital and NZZ am Sonntag, and later also reported for Die Zeit/Zeit Online and der Freitag.
She graduated from NYU’s Studio 20 program, which focuses on innovation in journalism, completing a research project with Facebook’s Journalism Partnerships team. She also has a B.S. in economics and politics from the University of Cologne and earned a four-year professional degree in business journalism at Cologne Journalism School.
