Michael McIlwee

AJO Class of 2022

Before pursuing journalism, Michael had been performing since the age of ten. Most recently, he was in the Broadway National and International tours of A Chorus Line, Phantom, and The Music Man. After his travels around the world, Michael became interested in the politics of different countries and the stories of the people that live there. That led him to pursue journalism and apply to AJO. After graduating, Michael started working as a producer for WCTV, a CBS News affiliate in Tampa, and was soon promoted to Digital Executive Producer.

Applying to the AJO program was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The program has a faculty that includes some of the most respected journalists in the industry. They mentor you along the way and will continue to after you graduate. If you’re considering the program, take the leap and apply!”
