Literary Reportage 2020
I was part of the Literary Reportage program at NYU, and now I’m a producer with Radio Diaries on NPR.
I came here to do written work, and I think NYU really showed me the breadth of different fields in journalism that I could go into. By the time I graduated, there were just more opportunities available to me because I had more skills.
The big thing I got from NYU was the connections. I got to know all of these people within the audio industry and the journalism industry that I didn’t know before and was able to actually show them my work. I’ve still been able to keep in touch with these people, and I’ve gotten opportunities from them.
Audio is such an exciting field right now, and there’s also just so much opportunity to create stuff while you’re here. And the professors that you meet here are people who are really core in the industry. So they’re people that will be really valuable to know, really valuable to show your skills, and you can really learn from.
