When I came to NYU, I was already a big podcast person, but I wanted to learn to make podcasts and audio stories. And this was my first time trying it out. And so I hoped that I would love making it, and clearly, I did.

I took all of the audio classes that were available, and then I ended up doing a thesis in audio. And a version that ran as a podcast episode for the show Proof by America’s Test Kitchen.

I learned to be a reporter, but I also took classes that were more focused on personal essays, and memoirs, which made me a better writer. And then, I got to produce stories and edit on audio. That combination was exactly what I was looking for from a grad school experience, and  I’m glad I was able to find that.
