Tanzina Vega is a lifelong educator and contributing writer for the Boston Globe Opinion section. She is also the founder of La Mala Media, which provides strategy, writing and podcast services for companies and brands. Previously Tanzina was a reporter and producer for The New York Times and CNN where she led coverage of race and inequality and was the first Latina host of The Takeaway on WNYC, New York Public Radio where she led daily coverage of national news. She has been a recipient of the Robert G. McGruder Distinguished Lecture and Award from Kent State University for her coverage of race and a contributing producer Emmy Award in news and documentary. She has held fellowships at The Nation Institute and at Princeton University where she served a Ferris Professor of Journalism.
