Tom Scocca

Tom Scocca is the creator and editor of Indignity on Substack, the former editor in chief of Popula and of Hmm Daily, and the former weather reviewer for The Awl. He has also worked for Gawker Media, Slate, the New York Observer, Baltimore’s City Paper, Washington City Paper, and the Boston Phoenix. He is the author of Beijing Welcomes You: Unveiling the Capital City of the Future, published by Riverhead Books, and 19 Folktales, published by the Brick House Cooperative. He reviews books for Air Mail, and his writing has also appeared in publications including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the New York Review of Books, the Nation, the New Republic, and BookForum.
