American Journalism Online 2021
Tyler was a production assistant working in the New York City television market, and later an employee at NYU’s Office of Graduate Marketing and Admissions Consulting before breaking into journalism. His long form work has appeared in Teen Vogue and InsideHook. Soon after graduation, Tyler became a daily contributor to The US Sun on the Science and Technology desk, covering cybercrime, space travel and tech business economics. He is now a virtual production coordinator at Pier 59 Studios.
The AJO program encouraged me and my peers to take our work from the classroom and test it in the professional field of journalism. I’m incredibly grateful for the professors that challenged us to take one of NYU’s key tenets – “to learn by doing” – literally and seriously. The courses are lively and interactive spaces where I had the chance to learn about the history, significance and practice of journalism. Going through AJO was one of the most influential experiences of my life and I’m so happy to be a part of the NYU family.”
