March 28, 2015

12:00PM - 4:00PM

20 Cooper Square, Room 653

This workshop will introduce a basic understanding of HTML elements, the steel frame of every website. From there we’ll learn about styling your webpage with different types of HTML elements (anchor tags, lists, images, etc). After gaining understanding of the structure of these elements, we’ll use CSS to enhance the style and learn some tricks for tweaking pages in the web browser.
Students who are able are asked to bring their own laptops – those who cannot bring their own computers will be provided with workstations.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: David Tristman is a designer, instructor and front end coder with over 16 years experience. He currently works as an art director and front end coder at WSJ Custom Studios (The Wall Street Journal). In addition, David maintains an active freelance and illustration business.
This event is free for currently-enrolled NYU journalism students as well as journalism faculty and staff. Alumni may attend for a $45 fee.
