Award winning filmmakers, alumni of NYU’s diverse documentary initiatives in the Program in Culture & Media/GSAS and Journalism/GSAS; Film & TV/TSOA and Open Arts Program/TSOA discuss how NYU’s distinctive documentary approaches, along with their unique personal perspectives have shaped their work. The role of the documentary today and NYU’s location in New York City for the study of documentary filmmaking will also be explored. Keynote: Cynthia López, commissioner, New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
