5pm // Book launch of About Us: Essays From the Disability Series of the New York Times (Liveright 2019). Book editors Peter Catapano (NY Times) and Rosemarie Garland-Thomson (Emory) and contributors Rachel Kolb and Alice Sheppard read from the new book.

6pm // Screening and discussion of Andrew Solomon’s Far From the Tree (2017, 93 min), an extraordinary documentary on families living with disability based on Andrew’s award-winning book. Andrew Solomon himself will be present for a post-screening conversation with Rachel Dretzin (director), Jamila Ephron (producer), and film protagonists Emily Kingsley and Jason Kingsley.
